My 8 month old has a fever help?

My son has been congested for about 3 weeks,and I've taken him to the doctor all they said was to give him saline drops,I have and use the souction thing to clean he's nose,today he woke up with a fever of 101 I took him to the hospital and they said it was a Upper Respiratory Infection,so they gave him cough syrup to help him with the congestion,they told him to give him motrin,and I have but he still seems to have a fever,I've even used be cool strips and he takes them off,is there anything else I can do for the fever?
