Which neighborhood should I move to in Philly?

The problem you have is the "working in the Northern Suburbs". The best place would be Old City, hands down. Very safe, tons of Restaurants, Bars, Galleries, etc. It's in the Center of Town, the historic area, probably not very affordable though. The best place closest to the Northern Suburbs would be Manayunk. Has Bars and Restaurants and cheaper places to live.
