System sounds but that's it no other sounds on my laptop?

i have a dell xps m1210 i had to reinstal windows a few days ago due to a nasty spyware. i have gotten most everything working but the system dosent seem to be reconizing the speakers as i can change no audio settings. i have also tried to install the audigy advanced mb sound blaster disc but it stops and says no device found. also when i reistalled itunes it showed an error that said something like there is a prob with your audio settings there be a problem with audio play back. any help will be very appreciated. if you need more info. and lastly i have tried all the no-brainer things i could think of! thanks every one!!
